India: A Global Power In The Making

India shines again and not just the cricket team that is making waves around the world. The G-20 has predicted that India will be one of the 10 largest members of the IMF and its position in the Fund improve the eighth position of the current number 11 in terms of share.

Leaders from around the world is all set to play in the U.S. later this year by the prestigious Wharton meeting of the India Economic Forum to discuss how India is positioned to compete and succeed in the rapidly changing global environment. The conference theme this year is India Gaining Momentum'':''. With an economy that is growing more than 8%, it is not surprising.

The country is an emerging world power. R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank in Qatar, said that "India will become a more sustainable economies in the future and for the year 2030, the economy of Asia - mainly comprising India and China - will be larger than the U.S. and the European Union combined. "Seetharaman said the world has witnessed India and China emerging as major contributors to the global economic recovery from a crisis situation.

Another point to note here is that the Sensex crossed the 20,000 mark as expected. Indices of India defied all world markets and held its strength through the disaster in Japan and the crisis of Libya. Exports have also made much progress.

So what is contributing to the phenomenal growth story of India?
